Privacy Policy
Last updated September 23, 2026
This page describes what Cognify stores, why, and what control you have over it. It is written to be read rather than to be survived.
What we store
- Your account. Email address, and whatever display name, username and avatar you choose to add. Authentication is handled by Supabase; we never see or store your password.
- Your documents. The PDFs you upload, held in a private storage bucket, plus the passages and embeddings we derive from them so the search can work.
- Your conversations. The questions you ask and the answers returned.
- AI Memory. Only the facts, goals, interests and preferences you add yourself under Dashboard → AI Memory. Nothing is inferred behind your back.
- Teamspace activity. Tasks, files, meetings, milestones and a timeline of who did what, visible to members of that teamspace.
- Billing records. The amount, currency, status and provider reference for each payment. Card details go directly to Razorpay and never reach our servers.
Who can see it
Your documents and conversations are private to your account. This is enforced in the database itself with PostgreSQL row-level security, not only in application code: a query runs as your user and can physically only return rows that belong to you. Content you place in a teamspace is visible to that teamspace's members, in line with the role you give each of them.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your documents to train models.
Who we share it with
These processors receive the minimum needed to do their job:
- Supabase — database, authentication and file storage.
- Groq and Google (Gemini) — the passages retrieved from your documents and your question, sent at the moment you ask it, in order to generate an answer. Nothing is sent when you are not asking.
- Razorpay — payment processing, if you subscribe or buy credits.
- Upstash — the queue that tracks indexing jobs.
The free PDF tools
Merge, split, compress, watermark, protect and inspect need no account. Files sent to those endpoints are held in memory only for as long as the request takes, are never written to disk, and are discarded once the response has been sent. We keep no copy and no record of the contents.
How long we keep it
Documents and conversations stay until you delete them. Deleting a document also removes its passages and embeddings. Deleting your account removes everything associated with it, except billing records we are required to retain for tax and accounting purposes.
Your choices
- Download or delete any document from Dashboard → Documents.
- Delete a conversation from Dashboard → Conversations.
- Edit or clear anything under Dashboard → AI Memory.
- Sign out of every device from Settings → Security.
- Request account deletion or a copy of your data by emailing support@cognify.world from your account address.
Cookies
We use one first-party storage entry to keep you signed in, and one to remember your theme and layout preferences. There is no advertising or cross-site tracking, and therefore no consent banner to dismiss.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will say so by email before the change takes effect.
