Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use Cognify. Using the service means you accept them. If you are agreeing on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to bind it.

Your account

You need an account for everything except the free PDF tools. Keep your credentials to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it.

Your content

Your documents remain yours. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service: to store your files, to derive passages and embeddings from them so search works, and to send the relevant passages to a model provider at the moment you ask a question. We do not use your content to train models, and we do not share it with anyone else.

You confirm you have the right to upload what you upload, and that doing so does not infringe anyone else's rights.

Acceptable use

Do not use Cognify to:

• upload content you have no right to, or that is unlawful;
• attempt to reach another account's data, or probe the service's defences;
• run automated traffic beyond the published rate limits, or resell the free tools as your own service;
• generate material that is illegal, or that is designed to harass or endanger someone.

We may suspend an account that does these things, and will explain why when we do.

Plans, payment and cancellation

The free plan is free. Premium is billed monthly in advance through Razorpay. Credits are one-off purchases that do not expire.

You can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing. Cancelling stops the next charge; you keep Premium until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not pro-rate partial months.

If a charge was clearly a mistake — a duplicate, or a renewal after a cancellation — email us and we will refund it.

We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. The new price applies from your next renewal, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

Answers are generated

Cognify produces answers from passages retrieved out of your documents, and tells you which page each one came from. It can still be wrong, and it can miss things. Check the cited page before relying on an answer for anything that matters. Cognify is not legal, medical, financial or professional advice.

Availability

We work to keep the service up but do not promise uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, a provider outage or a defect can interrupt it. We will tell you about planned downtime in advance where we can.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Cognify is provided as-is, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using Cognify at any time, and ask us to delete your account by emailing support@cognify.world. We may end the agreement if you materially breach these terms and do not fix it within 14 days of us asking.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will give notice by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
